About
Missional Consulting exists to support small teams doing meaningful work. I come alongside nonprofits, churches, and small businesses preparing for seasons of growth, transition, or navigating complexity. I offer practical, strategic help where it's needed most.
That might mean clarifying priorities, building out internal systems, coaching a growing team, or aligning operations with the mission they serve.
I use an embedded model, which means I work from within the day-to-day, not from a distance. I become a steady, supportive presence inside your organization's rhythm so the work we do together actually sticks.
The goal is simple: structure, clarity, and alignment so your team builds momentum around what matters most.
Meet the Founder
Alicia Shedd is a people-first operations leader with over a decade of experience helping mission-driven organizations get clear, get healthy, and move forward with purpose. Her work spans nonprofits, churches, camps, and small businesses, where she has partnered with executive leaders, built systems from scratch, scaled programs, and developed teams that operate with integrity and clarity.
She founded Missional Consulting on a simple premise: the infrastructure of an organization either protects the mission or quietly undermines it. Getting it right matters. Her approach is embedded, practical, and direct. Distance doesn't change that. She works inside the day-to-day rhythm of your organization because that is where the real work happens.

How It Works
Diagnostic Assessment
A clear-eyed look at where you are before we plan where you're going.
Every engagement starts with listening. The Diagnostic Assessment is a focused 2 to 4 week review of your current operations, team dynamics, and strategic alignment. You walk away with a clear picture of what's working, what's creating friction, and a practical roadmap for next steps, whether that includes a longer partnership with me or not.
Fractional Operations Leadership
Senior leadership capacity, embedded in your team, for the season you need it.
Fractional leadership means I step into your organization as part of the team, not as an outside advisor dropping in with recommendations. For a defined period of time, I carry real responsibility for the work: building the operational systems that hold your mission, coaching your team, and partnering with you on the strategic decisions that shape what comes next.
Operations is the foundation, but the work usually reaches further:
-
Operational systems and workflow design
-
Strategic planning and goal alignment
-
Team structure, role clarity, and leadership coaching
-
Internal communications and accountability structures
-
Budget planning
Engagements are scoped to your organization's needs and budget. Most run 6-9 months.
Values
Every organization is different. How I show up is not. These are the principles that ground my work and shape every conversation, every decision, and every season of partnership.

Diligent Stewardship
Protecting the heart of your work. Your mission is only as effective as the systems and strategy that serve it. I don't build structure for the sake of bureaucracy; I build it to ensure your mission survives the climb. Every workflow I design and every budget item I track is an act of stewardship intended to protect your team's time, energy, and long-term impact.

Essential Gear
Packing what you need without added weight. A good pack only carries what is necessary, and a good organization is no different. I believe in essential gear: the lightweight but sturdy systems that provide maximum support with minimum friction. I identify the strengths you already have and help build the specific structures needed so your team can moving forward with confidence.

Relentless Clarity
Seeing the reality of where you are. Clarity is not just about simplifying complexity. It is about helping your organization see itself honestly: the gap between your mission and the reality you are living in. That gap is where the friction lives, and where the real work needs to happen. This means asking hard questions and listening for what the answers reveal, then helping you find the clearest path forward.
